At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

Identify the stages of social and emotional development in children
Demonstrate excellent understanding of the Child Protection System
Discuss the different types of abuse, as well as who is at risk, and why
Recognise the signs of abuse and know how to provide support to an abused child
Explain the impact of neglect, domestic abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse
List the factors that may increase risk, and assess if a child is at risk of harm
Respond to disclosure and take appropriate action, to fulfil their duty of care
