The word cryobiology (from the Greek words “cryo” = cold, “bios” = life, and “logos” = science) literally signifies the science of life at low temperatures. In practice, this field comprises the study of any biological material or system (e.g., proteins, cells, tissues, organs, or organisms) subjected to any temperature below normal (ranging from moderately hypothermic conditions to cryogenic temperatures). The study of cryobiology is fundamental to promoting scientific research in low temperature biology, to improve scientific understanding in this field, and to disseminate and apply this knowledge to the benefit of mankind. Participants will explore the world of cryobiology through this course from UK Public College . This  course will provide participants with the full knowledge of the cryopreservation of cell. The diploma in cell biology is designed to provide students with the necessary foundation of scientific knowledge, understanding and skill to build a career as a cryobiologist.

This Level 6 Diploma in Cryobiology provide participants with the understanding of effect of low temperatures on biological and non-biological systems. Participants will learn about the evolution of tissue freezing as an effective means of cryopreservation. This certificate will introduce participants to the paradigm for freezing organs which was developed based on freezing to relatively high subzero temperatures while limiting the degree of dehydration and the accepted approach of deep freezing to cryogenic temperatures.
Participants will also learn the progress being made to improve methods of freeze-drying blood.
